NRI MARRIAGE PROCEDURE IN DELHI

If you are an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) looking to get married in Delhi, India, there are a few procedures that you need to follow. The process may vary depending on your religion and personal circumstances, but here are some general steps that you may need to take:

Obtain a Certificate of No Impediment: This certificate confirms that you are legally free to marry. It is issued by the embassy or consulate of your home country in India. You will need to provide proof of identity, address, and nationality to obtain this certificate.

Obtain a Marriage Registration Form: In Delhi, you can obtain the marriage registration form from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office in your jurisdiction. You will need to fill out this form with your personal details and attach a few documents, including your birth certificate, passport, and two passport-sized photographs.

Get your documents verified: Before you can submit your marriage registration form, you will need to get your documents verified by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate or the designated officer. This process is called "verification of documents."

Submit your marriage registration form: Once your documents are verified, you can submit your marriage registration form along with the necessary fees to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office. You will need to do this at least one month before the wedding date.

Schedule an appointment for the wedding: After your marriage registration form is submitted, you will need to schedule an appointment for the wedding ceremony. This appointment will be scheduled by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office.

Get married: On the day of the wedding, you will need to appear before the Sub-Divisional Magistrate or the designated officer with your witnesses. The wedding ceremony will take place in the presence of the officer and your witnesses.

Obtain your marriage certificate: After the wedding ceremony, you will receive your marriage certificate. This certificate will serve as proof of your marriage.

It is important to note that the above steps are general guidelines, and the actual process may vary depending on your specific circumstances. It is recommended that you consult with a lawyer or a reliable authority for more detailed information

citizens in India depend on several factors, including their nationality, religion, and personal preferences. Here is a general outline of the marriage procedure in India for foreign citizens:

Obtain a valid visa: Before arriving in India, foreign citizens need to obtain a valid visa from an Indian embassy or consulate in their country. The visa should specify the purpose of their visit to India as marriage.

Obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC): Foreign citizens need to obtain an NOC from their respective embassies or consulates in India. This certificate indicates that the foreigner is single and eligible to marry in India.

Register the marriage: The couple needs to register their marriage under the Foreign Marriage Act, 1969, at the nearest office of the Registrar of Marriages.

Provide necessary documents: The couple needs to provide the necessary documents, including their passport, birth certificate, and photographs, to the Registrar of Marriages.

Complete the registration process: The couple needs to complete the registration process by signing the marriage certificate in the presence of witnesses.

Get the marriage certificate: Once the registration process is complete, the Registrar of Marriages issues a marriage certificate to the couple.

It is important to note that the marriage procedure may vary depending on the nationality and religion of the couple. It is recommended that the couple consults with the embassy or consulate of their country in India and a local lawyer to understand the specific requirements and procedures for their situation.
